RICHMOND GROUP RIDING FOR THE DISABLED INC.

The Richmond branch of the NZRDA is situated at 169 Champion Road,  nestled at the base of the Richmond Hills - it is a peaceful setting… none of the distractions of daily life…

The land is leased from  Mr Griffin and since moving there in 1995, we have turned the area from cow paddocks into a peaceful and picturesque place for our clients to come… To learn, but also to enjoy themselves…

We have completed about 90% of the projects we set ourselves - with mainly major projects left.

All that has been achieved so far has been funded by grants.. From            organisations such as Trustbank, Lottery Grants, Springhill Trust etc.. Also donations (time, money and materials) from the local private and business community and fund raising events we have held ourselves.

We receive no Government funding.

At present we employ one person full-time to act as Group Co-ordinator, Viv has been doing the job for the past 9 years.  All others involved with the day to day running of the group are here on a voluntary basis.

We have 114 clients per week coming from many different sectors of our community… as our clients become more confident we encourage them to   enter the local A & P Show.. just to compete with others helps boost their confidence even more and we must admit, it helps to boost ours as well….
